Shaoming Chen

Angels Project Lead, South East Asia and South Korea

Shaoming graduated with a BA and MSci in Natural Sciences from University of Cambridge, with a focus on Organic Chemistry. Subsequently, she was part of the Economist Intelligence Unit Healthcare division, where she worked with medical device and pharmaceutical companies to address business challenges and identify growth opportunities. Some of her favourite projects included second brand commercial feasibility assessment and designing patient access programme.

Wanting to have a more direct impact on delivering quality medicines to patients, she joined Boehringer Ingelheim’s regional commercial excellence team and worked closely with sales and marketing colleagues in various therapeutic areas including metabolism, cardiovascular, respiratory and oncology. During this period, while supporting the stroke team, she learned about Angels Initiative and was inspired by the wonderful work being done around the world to improve treatment for stroke patients. She joined the Angels Initiative in 2018 to continue the mission to develop more stroke ready centers and give more patients a second chance of life.
