Acting Director of the Federal Center Cerebrovascular Pathology and Stroke, Chief Neurologist of the Moscow Public Health Department (DZM)
Professor Shamalov is a graduate of Stavropol State Medical Academy’s Faculty of Medicine and completed his postgraduate study at the Department of Fundamental and Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery of the Russian State Medical University.
Over the past few years, Professor Shamalov has been working to improve medical care system for patients with cerebrovascular diseases, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and other neurological diseases – tremendously enhancing neurological care and continuity within Moscow’s public health system. Currently, Professor Shamalov manages the organization of medical care for patients with stroke, the development and implementation of new technologies for treatment, as well as rehabilitation and prevention of cerebral circulation disorders.
He is also the Executive Secretary of the National Stroke Association (NABI), a member of the European and World Stroke Organizations, as well as a member of the European Union Section on Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine.
