About this training

Welcome to "ASLS-Angels: Advanced Stroke Life Support for Pre-Hospital Providers", the premier eLearning course for stroke education tailored for emergency medical teams. Developed by the Gordon Center at the University of Miami together with experts in stroke, emergency medicine, prehospital care, and nursing education, this course has trained thousands of EMS personnel, nurses, and physicians from hundreds of institutions across the US and abroad. It provides a unique neurologic assessment tool, the MEND exam, ideal for both prehospital and hospital settings, along with practical video examples to support theoretical learning. This course is accredited by the European Accreditation Counsel for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME).

Course Objective:
The primary objective of this course is to enable emergency professionals to react more efficiently and accurately towards stroke patients. By identifying the symptoms and requesting essential information about the patient, you will be able to make better decisions in less time, which is extremely valuable for a stroke patient. The course covers key topics such as stroke facts and rationale, major stroke syndromes and mimics, stroke management principles, and health promotion and screening.

• Part I (Modules 1-5)
• Part II (Modules 6-9)
Each module takes between 20-45 minutes to complete and includes interactive content, practical videos, charts, and assessments that can be reviewed as many times as needed. All answers can be found within the text.

Course Duration:
The total duration of the course is 4 hours and 30 minutes, allowing you to complete it at your own pace.

Course Certificate:
To receive full accreditation, you must complete all modules of Part I and Part II of the course and pass the assessment tests with a minimum of 80%.
