Dr. Javier Orlando Hernández Sánchez is a medical doctor with over a decade of experience in emergency medicine, medical education, and healthcare administration. He holds a Medical Degree from the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo, a Master’s in Health Institutions Administration from Instituto de Estudios Universitarios, and a Master’s in Medical Education from Universidad Westhill. In recognition of his contributions to healthcare and leadership, he was awarded an honorary doctoral degree (Honoris Causa) by the Universidad Internacional en Desarrollo Humano y Liderazgo in 2022.
Throughout his career, Dr. Hernández has held various leadership roles in both clinical and academic settings. He served as Medical Coordinator in multiple hospitals across Mexico City, including Hospital San Ángel Inn Sur and Hospital Ángeles Acoxpa, where he led multidisciplinary teams and oversaw emergency and hospitalization services. His work has consistently focused on improving patient outcomes through strategic planning, clinical management, and continuous quality improvement.
In academia, he has contributed as an adjunct professor and doctoral faculty member, mentoring future healthcare professionals and participating in the selection and development of doctoral candidates. His passion for education is matched by his commitment to innovation in healthcare delivery.
Dr. Hernández joined the Angels Initiative in March 2025, driven by a strong belief in the power of organized stroke care systems to transform patient outcomes. His role as a consultant involves optimizing stroke care processes, implementing personalized protocols, and empowering medical teams through training and support. For him, joining Angels represents an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on stroke care in Mexico by fostering collaboration and excellence across healthcare institutions.
