José holds a medical degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and St. Luke Medical School. He also qualified as an advanced paramedic at the Autonomous University of Mexico State and the Mexican Red Cross.
He has extensive experience with critical patients, having served for the last three years as paramedic and medic in Critical Care Transport. He is an EMT-P instructor, teaching medical students on the topics of critical care transport and emergency medicine, and member of the Flight Crew for the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile in NASCAR in Mexico City.
José encountered the Angels Initiative while leading the stroke team in the emergency department at a General Hospital in Mexico City. As an Angels Consultant, commits to making the change between before and after for patients with cerebrovascular disease. His goals are to have a positive impact and expand the scope of the global initiative, with the central purpose of reducing the rate of complications and sequelae, strengthening prehospital and inpatient services in the country, as well as improving the quality of medical care focused on these patients.
