Nerea Diaz

Spain

Nerea holds a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a Master's degree in Clinical Research Management from ESAME Pharmaceutical Business School. From a young age, she was drawn to science and knew she wanted to pursue a career related to healthcare.

Throughout her academic journey, Nerea showed a strong interest in patient-centered initiatives. During her internship at Hospital Universitario La Paz, she contributed to a clinical research project focused on the outcomes of patients with rare diseases depending on their access to treatments. This experience, combined with her subsequent work as a community pharmacist, deepened her awareness of the many unmet needs faced by patients with different pathologies.

She began her career in the pharmaceutical industry in the Medical Department at Biogen, where she participated in multiple projects related to Neurology and Rare Diseases. Her work focused on providing healthcare professionals with accurate, up-to-date medical and scientific information to support clinical decision-making. She later joined Gilead as a Medical Information Specialist, where she worked closely with oncologists, responding to medical inquiries to support their clinical practice.

Nerea joined the Angels Initiative with the aim to help improve stroke care for all patients and make a meaningful impact on their lives. She is motivated to collaborate with healthcare professionals and EMS services to achieve a common goal: ensure that all stroke patients get the treatment they need and have the best possible outcome.
