Stefania obtained her Master’s Degree in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technologies at the University of Ferrara, where she first cultivated a deep interest in understanding human biology through the lens of pharmacology. This curiosity quickly evolved into a passion for scientific inquiry and a desire to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of healthcare.
Her academic journey led her to pursue a PhD in Medical, Omics and Oncological Sciences, at the University of Ferrara. During this years, she spent a research period at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she had the opportunity to work in an international, multidisciplinary environment. This path made her develop a deep appreciation for the global nature of scientific research and the collective effort that drives it forward. She discovered that research is a shared intellectual journey, a dialogue among minds across the world united by the aspiration to understand, heal, and innovate.
After several years dedicated to experimental science, Stefania felt a growing need to apply her knowledge beyond the laboratory, in a context where she could create a more direct and tangible impact. Here is where the Angels Initiative found her. What struck her most was the movement’s mission: a global effort to improve stroke care through collaboration, education, and continuous quality enhancement. Being part of a project that brings together professionals from different backgrounds to work toward a meaningful, shared goal resonated deeply with her values.
Joining Angels represents, for Stefania, the perfect synthesis of her scientific foundation, her passion for teamwork, and her commitment to improving patient outcomes. The opportunity to create a positive impact is invaluable. She hopes to contribute her skills, enthusiasm, and scientific mindset to support hospitals, empower healthcare teams, and ultimately help save more lives.
