Vittoria Spero

Italy

Vittoria received her Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technologies from the University of Milan in 2019. Driven by a strong interest in the central nervous system, she went on to pursue a PhD in Experimental Medicine at the same university, focusing on the molecular effects of pharmacological treatments in psychiatric and stress-related disorders.

During her PhD studies, she had the opportunity to present her research at international scientific conferences and to publish several peer-reviewed papers.

She continued her scientific journey in neuroscience abroad, as a postdoctoral researcher and junior team leader at the University Hospital of Bern (Switzerland), where she worked on retinal multifactorial diseases, investigating underlying molecular mechanisms and exploring potential pharmacological targets.

She returned to Italy to join the Angels Initiative with the goal of making a more tangible impact on patients’ lives, particularly in the field of stroke care.
