About this training
Effective pre-hospital stroke care is crucial for improving patient outcomes. This course focuses on training Emergency Medical Services (EMS) professionals in the essential actions required during the pre-hospital phase. The course consists of two modules that provide interactive learning and practical application.
Course Objective:
The objective of this eLearning course is to equip EMS professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage stroke patients effectively before they reach the hospital. Participants will learn to implement the four key priority actions (Diagnose I Choose the right hospital I Emergency transport I Pre-notification) to improve patient outcomes.
Course Structure:
The eLearning course is composed of two modules:
- Module 1: "Saving a life in 4 steps" is an interactive content presentation module. It trains EMS professionals in the four key priority actions for pre-hospital stroke care. To successfully complete the module, you need to pass the knowledge evaluation with 80% pass rate.
- Module 2: The "Pre-Hospital Stroke Care Basics" module consists of an interactive video based on the pre-hospital workshop session at the Angels Initiative Train the Trainer event. Speakers include Jan van der Merwe, Co-Founder of the Angels Initiative, Dr Matej Polak, Head of ZaMED Emergency Medical Service and an active paramedic in Slovakia, and Dr Gustavo Santo, regional coordinator and clinician from Portugal. Course Duration:
The eLearning course is designed to be completed in approximately 2 hours, allowing participants to engage fully with all interactive elements and video presentations.
Course Certificate:
To receive a certificate, participants must complete all activities, engage fully with all interactive elements, and take the evaluation at the end of Module 1. The certificate will reflect the participant's proficiency in pre-hospital stroke care and their ability to apply the four key priority actions effectively.
