In the countdown to a series of training webinars for stroke nurses from six countries in Central Asia, the number of registered participants grew every minute — and so did the potential impact of this international training intervention.

When writing about St. Łukasz Hospital in Bolesławiec, we became acquainted with head nurse Ewa Gadzińska who, in answer to our questions, wrote a moving tribute to the nurses on her team. Here is her story in full.

The Institute of Human Behavior and Allied Sciences in Delhi, India, is a recognised centre of excellence that has won several Angels Awards. But its influence reaches beyond hospital walls, making a positive impact on stroke care throughout East Delhi.

Dr Claudio Baracchini founded the Stroke Unit at Padua University Hospital in 2011. He explains how, after engaging the new Hospital Administration with a critical review on stroke care and revising the stroke pathway in June 2022, this hospital achieved diamond status in the ESO Angels Awards.
