I joined Angels because my objective is to help the community by saving more lives through leading the stroke pathway implementation in cooperation with the Ministry of Health. To this end I aim to implement my learnings from my previous role as training manager.

On my first day with Angels I attended the induction training and was briefed about the Angels Initiative objectives, and our local strategy to support the patients in the remote areas.

The thing I am most proud of is being part of this team and working closely with the Ministry of Health to unify our plans to maximise the benefits of developing more and more stroke centres.

It took a lot of courage to meet the stakeholders across the Ministry of Health and also the Red Crescent to discuss our unified and customised approach.

The most important thing I have learnt so far is to work strategically. This means building our plan to select future stroke centres based on specific criteria and to align the plan with the Ministry of Health.

One skill I have found unexpectedly useful is active listening. This is valuable when dealing with different stakeholders and helps capture the gaps and work on them.

To me, leaving my legacy means putting a clear fingerprint on developing the healthcare system in Saudi Arabia to reach our vision for the country by 2030.
