On a tiny island in the Atlantic Ocean there were no happy outcomes for stroke patients until an Angels intervention wrote a new ending for their story.

The first FAST Heroes awards ceremony and teacher summit took place on 22 June. Held to honour teachers and children who had excelled in the campaign and spread its message from classroom to community, it offered a moving display of commitment, determination and courage.

When the neurology department of this Budapest hospital was moved from the trauma centre to the calm and quiet of a building a kilometer away, the stroke team simply brought their sense of urgency with them.
