The Indonesian province of Nusa Tenggara Timur rewrote the script for World Stroke Day celebrations last November.

The second consecutive webinar series for Sub-Saharan Africa resulted in meaningful knowledge exchange, and clear progress toward improving stroke care in the region.

Amazing teachers, committed children, adult advocates, and engaged grandparents inspired the FAST Heroes community when they were named award winners at the FAST Heroes Summit in Bratislava at the end of June. These winners may not be doctors or nurses, many of them are years away from being old enough to drive . . . but they're all on a mission to save lives.

During the 36th Summer Stroke School in Croatia, a hands-on practical simulation workshop drew vigorous discussion – and put the Croatian Stroke Society president on a stretcher.

Prenotification of acute stroke patients is now mandatory in Croatia, and fully integrated in the national reporting system. This was among several achievements celebrated in Karlovac on Croatia’s national EMS day.

Indonesia’s first Angels Region has shown that the collectivist spirit that characterises Indonesian society is a powerful weapon in the fight against stroke.
